Object Improvisation!!!

Hello there! in this entry i'm going to show you on how to integrate drama in teaching English.
Drama is fun and it challenges creativity. Besides, drama makes a great tool in teaching all parts of language skills area. However, today, we are going to focus on how to use drama in teaching speaking.

Teaching steps:
1. Arrange the students into several group and do not make it too large. six to seven people in a group would do the trick.
2. Provide each group with a random item/object such as a broom, an empty water bottle,a pail, a bowl, a shawl...ANYTHING! (it's up to you on how are you going to test their imagination)

3. Provided with the objects that has been given to each group, they are required to creatively create a sketch by using the objects given as their prop.
4. It is up to the student's creativity on how do they want to manipulate their prop creatively, and create an interesting sketch out of that.
5. The sketch has to be in approximately two minutes length, and everyone is required to have equal lines.

Gentle Reminder:
1. This lesson is meant for advance proficiency level students.
2. Make sure that all students are clear with the instruction given before you start the activity because you do not want your classroom turns into havoc when they get too excited.
3. this activity can be altered/adjust depending on the content that you would like to stress on. for instance, if you are teaching Noun, you may want the students to use a lot of noun, in manipulating the object given in creating their sketch.
4. students love praises and comments. do not forget to give comments for each sketch, and praise them.
5. at the end of the lesson, you may wrap it up by stressing on the content that you focus on that day such as Noun, Adjective, etc..

Have Fun!! and Happy Teaching! :)
